My sister calls me Doctor Dolittle as I love animals and also seem to be quite good at taming them. I just love it when an animal trusts me completely and shows no fear.
When I was younger, I had two canaries. The one I was able to tame completely, so much so that he would sit on my shoulder or head and sing his little heart out. I would often leave his cage door open so he could fly around freely and would give him all sorts of treats to eat.
The other was hard work. Although I made it a point of showing the first canary to him sitting on my finger so he would see there was nothing to fear, he still did. I would put my hand slowly in his cage with treats and he would flap around and bite me. I persisted and after a while, he would sit on my finger, but still biting me. I tried to give him treats but he would just peck at them. When I would leave his cage door open to fly around, he would sit at the entrance and sing quietly, never quite finishing his song. It was so frustrating. He could have had a much better quality of life if he'd only trusted me.
Isn’t that how we can be sometimes? There are people who have told me that they don’t really have friends because they’ve been hurt in the past. Well, this person is missing out on potentially great friendships. Just choose your friends wisely. There are people who are always expecting their spouse to let them down, so they constantly behave in a negative way and end up bringing problems into the relationship, therefore ‘proving’ their theory right. There are people who don’t believe in themselves and so never do anything about their goals and dreams.
We can learn a lesson from the little fellow in the photo. He gave me his total trust and so in return, he got all the nuts that I’d brought to give to all the squirrels.
I love your story. I think God also gets frustrated when people don't trust Him entirely: When people sin without caring what they listen at church, when people just eat the cumbers that fall from the table, when they could actually sit and have a banquet with the Lord Jesus. I think that the Lord also says that people could have had a much better quality of life if they had only trusted Him.
ReplyDeleteI find this to be very true. We will never really know what there is to gain if we dont come out of 'the cage'. Okay sure we have heard there are dangers and bad experiences but those happen to those who go into the wrong places. Its funny how only one persons bad experience can put us off listening to those who have good ones. But we are not trusting in people we are trusting in God and if we give ourselves totally we will see that He never fails us.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mrs Cris =D
This story was nice and true.Sometimes is hard to trust someone we think there's no one but like you said we got to choose our friends wisely by choosing our friends wisely where forgetting God because no matter what he will never let us down he is always there for us to hear us but we don't open up,when we could just trust him. This was good story Thanks Mrs.Cris
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile because it clearly shows how we miss out on so much when we don't trust God. What stood out the most was the freedom and joy that comes from letting go and flying into God's hands because as I read about the first canary it's as though you were completely in tune with it or rather it with you. Everything was available for the second one but he simply would'nt take it...how proud! I think when we do that towards God it's as way of being proud becuase it's as though we are saying that what we keep is 'too much' for God to handle.
ReplyDeleteThis really made me think.
this is so true, if we just trust god and tell him everything our life’s would be so much easier, at the time it may seem smarter to stay in our cage where we feel safe but we will never get the befits of the life god wants us to have.
ReplyDeleteThis article was very interesting and inspiring. It is true how a lot of us are fearful to trust in anyone even God just because we have been hurt before. But it is true we must trust God and tell Him everything so we can be born of Him.
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo true. Its simple trust, so many times God has a big blessing but because I dont trust Him I loose out, the AMOUNT OF TIMES!I need to trust, it shows the difference between those born of God and those born of flesh. It also requires faith. Its hard to trust at times, but sometimes its the only way. Infact all the time. =D
ReplyDeleteTrust is such a lovely word but something that we sometimes find hard. Its all god us saying, i love God and i believe in God, this is the case fr so many f us however its so evident in our lives and in our actions that trust is missing. Thats what i think sacrifice is though, obviously there is sacrifice just to show God our appreciation, but there is also trust that shows that we Trust God and depend him. Its easier said than done beecause i have felf the frustration f wanting somene to trust yu and them being weary. It must just be the tiniest fraction oof what Gd must feel.
